Crouse Health offers a full range of general and specialty care, inpatient and outpatient services, as well as community health education and outreach programs. Pomeroy College of Nursing at Crouse Hospital is currently hiring a full-time Registered Nurse (RN) for a medical/surgical nursing faculty position. The faculty position is based on a 10-month appointment. The faculty responsibilities include providing instruction for nursing students in the classroom, laboratory and/or clinical settings. Faculty are expected to provide support and guidance for students in each of these settings, including formative and summative student feedback based upon course learning outcomes. Faculty are expected to maintain prescribed faculty workload, including participation in College committees.
Pay Range:
$38,000 - $48,000 / year
Schedule:
Part-Time, including day and evening hours.
Faculty Position Responsibilities:
Scholarship of teaching: Demonstrates evidence-based teaching practices. Uses foundational teaching strategies appropriate to learner needs, desired learner outcomes, content and context. Uses information technologies to support the teaching-learning process. Shows enthusiasm for teaching, learning, and one's own discipline. Uses personal attributes (i.e. caring, confidence, patience, integrity and flexibility) that facilitate learning. Serves as a professional role model. Identifies individual learning styles and unique learning needs of the multicultural adult and at-risk learners. Implements appropriate learning activities and evaluation strategies. Professionally functions within the institutional philosophy and mission, and current discipline trends. Proactively identifies areas of concern with student performance and competently assists student through remediation.
Scholarship of Practice:
Demonstrates evidence of effective course implementation.
Service:
Integrates the values of respect, collegiality, professionalism, and caring to build an organizational climate that fosters the development of students and teachers Determines own professional goals within the context of academic nursing and the mission of the parent institution and nursing program Participation in professional organization, continued education, course meetings college committees
Requirements:
Graduate from an accredited nursing degree program. Currently licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required. Master's degree in Nursing preferred, or must be enrolled in a Master's degree nursing program with degree completion plan in place upon hire. Must have Basic Life Support (BLS) at the time of hire or within four (4) weeks after hire. Minimum of three (3) years of full-time or its equivalent in clinical nursing experience in the assigned area of responsibility.
