Job Description:
The Nursing Department at Jefferson Community College is seeking part-time adjunct faculty for Clinical instructors to grow our adjunct pool. Clinical assignments include medical-surgical, mental health, and maternity areas.
Requirements:
Required:
New York State RN license, Bachelor's degree in nursing and significant experience in an occupational specialty such as medical-surgical, emergency medicine, psychosocial nursing, maternity or pediatrics. Applicants must interact and communicate effectively with diverse populations, foster inclusion, and promote equal access and treatment for groups traditionally under-represented in higher education.
Preferred:
A Master's degree in Nursing, or BSN and enrolled in a Master's degree program; strong communication skills; computer literacy; experience in team teaching, mentoring, and curriculum development; ability to work with students from diverse backgrounds; ability to integrate critical thinking strategies into the teaching/learning process; and the ability to interact with external entities such as clinical sites.
Additional Information:
This is a pooled search. Jefferson Community College is seeking to develop a pool of qualified applicants to teach clinical in an acute care setting. Adjunct applications will be kept on file for three years to fill part-time teaching vacancies as they occur. The College determines the need for adjunct instructors based on planned courses each term; it is not possible to predict the need for future semesters. When an opening does occur, finalists for adjunct positions are contacted for interviews.
Current Rates:
Top G4: $59.68 (Masters after teaching 6 semesters) Level B + 10%: $56.10 (Masters with no teaching experience) Top G2: $52.97 (less than Masters after teaching 6 semesters)
Level B:
$51.00 (less than Masters with no teaching experience)
