Job Description:
The Adjunct Graduate Nursing Course Content Expert serves as the disciplinary and academic content authority for the development or revision of an assigned graduate nursing course. This adjunct appointment is course-specific and focuses on ensuring that course content reflects current evidence-based practice, graduate-level rigor, and alignment with AACN Essentials, specialty competencies, and accreditation standards. The Content Expert collaborates with program leadership, course faculty, and instructional design staff to support effective course development and delivery. Responsibility for academic content, learning objectives, and disciplinary alignment remains faculty-led and grounded in formal nursing and educational preparation. Appointments are made on a per-course Adjunct basis, depending on program development needs. Essential Functions Course Content Development Develop or revise course content for an assigned graduate nursing course. Ensure integration of evidence-based practice, clinical reasoning, leadership, and population health concepts appropriate to graduate nursing education. Align course assignments and assessments with course objectives and program outcomes. Curriculum Alignment and Quality Participate in course review and revision processes as assigned. Maintain consistency with program curriculum framework and sequencing. Collaboration Collaborate with instructional design personnel to support course organization, accessibility, and delivery within the LMS while maintaining academic oversight of content. Work with program faculty and leadership to ensure clinical and professional relevance. Participate in scheduled development meetings as needed during the course design period. Evaluation and Continuous Improvement Support ongoing quality improvement efforts related to the assigned course. Appointment Terms Adjunct appointment for development or revision of a single graduate nursing course. Duration and compensation determined by scope of work. Position may be remote and project-based.
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications MSN closely related field required. Graduate-level teaching experience in nursing education. Demonstrated expertise in the clinical specialty area relevant to the assigned course. Experience with curriculum or course development in higher education. Knowledge of AACN Essentials and graduate nursing competencies. Preferred Qualifications Doctoral degree in Nursing (DNP or PhD) or closely related field National certification in specialty area. Experience developing online or hybrid graduate nursing courses. Prior experience with CCNE-accredited programs. Experience with competency-based or outcomes-focused education.
