Job Description We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to fill the role of Dean for our Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program. This leadership position offers an exceptional opportunity to shape the future of nursing education and contribute to the development of the next generation of healthcare professionals. This position will be responsible for the site supervision, development, planning, coordination, organization, implementation and evaluation of the nursing program activities. Responsible for overall supervision, development, planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of the nursing program
Manages all program aspects, including:
RN program budget
Faculty and staff
Clinical site liaison
Curriculum development and implementation
Compliance with Board rules, regulations, and site visits
Student advocacy
Program policies and procedures
Faculty and student handbooks
Supplies and equipment to meet program objectives
Prepares required state/Board reports, proposals, self-studies, surveys, and site visit materials
Maintains student and faculty records; ensures documentation of qualifications with HR
Identifies and secures external resources for the nursing program
Develops and implements program policies and procedures
Organizes and serves on program committees
Oversees admission process and new student orientation
Writes articulation agreements with colleges for course transfer into Eagle Gate, Provo, and College nursing programs
Serves as liaison between the community and the college
Performs additional duties as needed to support students and program consistency
Develops and maintains clinical site partnerships and contracts
Conducts or delegates clinical site evaluations (objectives, safety, risk, hazards, staffing adequacy)
Coordinates with clinical faculty/agencies on student numbers, faculty assignments, schedules, rotations, and objectives; submits required BRN approval forms
Ensures post-rotation evaluations from students, sites, and faculty; provides summary reports to Dean, Chief Academic Officer, and Advisory Committee
Maintains minutes of inter-agency meetings
Participates in nursing faculty recruitment, hiring, and orientation
Ensures regular nursing faculty meetings with documented minutes
Handles conflict resolution for faculty and students
Builds community relationships; advocates for and markets the nursing programs
Monitors instructional quality; participates in faculty/program evaluation and strategic planning
Maintains membership and participates in professional nursing associations
Represents nursing interests with other college departments (counseling, registration, financial aid)
Provides advising and degree planning support to prospective students
Ensures students are oriented to skills lab and clinical facilities before rotations
Manages student appeals and grievances per policy
Participates in recruitment, admission planning, and review of qualified nursing students
Provides academic advising and support to enrolled nursing students
Verifies students meet all graduation and licensing exam requirements
Conducts Nursing Advisory Committee meetings
Tracks and reports student performance, NCLEX pass rates, and job placement outcomes
Qualifications:
Must hold a current RN license in the state where the campus is located
A master's or higher degree from an accredited college or University that includes course work in nursing, education or administration
A minimum of two years of experience in an administrative position
A minimum of two years of teaching experience in pre- or post-licensure nursing programs
At least two years of experience as a registered nurse providing direct patient care and/or equivalent experience as determined by the Board
Demonstrated leadership skills
Excellent skills in oral and written communications
