An enthusiastic instructor who will prepare and deliver lectures in the didactic and laboratory setting. This person will demonstrate proficiency in instruction, evaluation, and supervision of students. This position begins in the Fall semester 2026.
Job Duties:
ESSENTIAL TASKS
Other duties include but are not limited to: Develop and update laboratory objectives Update Blackboard appropriately and report no-shows/student grades during appropriate times as deemed by the college. Update and keep track of student skills sheets and attendance Develop and update didactic objectives Deliver high-stakes quizzes/tests to the Program Coordinator and Medical Director one week prior to the test Work with the Program Coordinator to ensure the lab is supplementing didactic learning Coach, Mentor, and Advise Students. Participate in local student recruitment events and other activities related to the EMS program and community outreach. Compliance with CoAEMSP and CAAHEP standards for accreditation. Teach courses Conduct success and retention activities. Perform other related duties as may be assigned. LEADERSHIP and
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Ability to exchange ideas, information, and opinions effectively with others to formulate procedures and/or arrive jointly at decisions, conclusions, or solutions; ability to manage interpersonal conflict situations requiring tact, diplomacy, and discretion; ability to communicate publicly, clearly and effectively with a variety of people including coworkers and staff of external agencies; ability to demonstrate safe work habits and safe use of equipment; ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing; ability to interact effectively with student populations and a wide variety of co-workers, and the general public.
Minimum Qualifications:
Three years of related EMS experience, KBEMS - Kentucky Licensed Paramedic with a Level III Instructor endorsement Be knowledgeable about methods of instruction, testing, and evaluation of students Experience in emergency medicine/prehospital care instruction
Preferred Qualifications:
An associate degree or higher Knowledge of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA); college policies, procedures, and practices; ability to plan, organize, and implement multiple tasks effectively.
Additional Skills Requested:
Knowledge of the proper operation of and the ability to use personal computers and job-related software, including Microsoft Office; other job-specific software; office machines such as telephones or copiers; ability to use Smartboards; distance learning applications; and Blackboard.

Environment:
Work is performed primarily in a standard classroom/lab setting with frequent interruptions and distractions, and extended periods of viewing a computer monitor. The employee may be required to work or meet in the evenings and/or on weekends; they may be required to work clinicals as needed.
Physical:
Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in a classroom/lab setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 10 lbs.; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination, including use of a computer keyboard; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.
