POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for teaching in the Associate Degree Respiratory Care Program. Under the supervision of the Program Director, the full-time, 12-month faculty member provides high-quality instruction and supports student learning in the classroom, lab, and clinical settings. The instructor designs, delivers, evaluates, and updates curriculum and related instructional materials. Responsibilities include supporting student progress through advisement, remediation, and referral, as needed. The faculty member serves as a program liaison and contributes to accreditation and regulatory activities.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The Instructor:
Teaches assigned courses and prepares instructional materials, including lectures, presentations, labs, and clinical activities. Uses assessments to evaluate student achievement of course and program outcomes. Provides timely feedback to support student success. Prepares and submits required documentation such as syllabi, attendance, and final grades. Shares information with students about College services and resources. Pursues professional development to remain current in the field. Participates in committees, serves as an advisor, and mentors faculty as needed. Assists program faculty in course development and program improvement. Performs additional duties and projects that support the College's mission and values.Holistic Student Support The Instructor:
Understands the range of College services that support students, such as Enrollment Services, Advising, Career Services, Tutoring, Student Life, and Accessibility Services. Ensures these services are accessible and responsive to diverse student needs. Promotes a welcoming, student-centered campus experience. Supports the Division's efforts to implement high-quality support practices for faculty, staff, and students.Teaching Excellence and Program Innovation The Instructor:
Develops clinical objectives aligned with accreditation standards and course goals. Evaluates clinical sites to ensure optimal student learning experiences. Identifies appropriate clinical opportunities for students to practice required skills. Supervises and assesses students during clinical experiences. Conducts pre- and post-clinical conferences to support learning.
Minimum Qualifications The Instructor:
Holds a Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited institution Possesses an active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential Has 5 years of clinical experience as an RRT Is eligible for or holds a Tennessee RRT licensePreferred Qualifications The Instructor:
Has post-secondary teaching experience Holds a Master's Degree from an accredited institution Understands CoARC accreditation standards Holds additional credentials (e.g., ACCS, RPFT/CPFT, NPS, AC-E) Possesses or is eligible for a Tennessee RRT license Physical Requirements/Working Conditions Faculty positions are based on a 12-month contract A typical workweek includes 37.5 hours, with at least 30 hours on campus Demonstrates strong organizational and time management skills Maintains punctuality and professionalismSalary Range:
