Job Description

To assist the qualified Associate Degree Nursing Program Faculty with clinical learning experiences. To provide necessary supervision and instruction to ADN students in the clinical or simulated setting.

Master's Degree from a nationally, regionally, or identified at the state level accredited institution of higher education in Nursing required. A minimum of 3 years of recent nursing experience preferably one of those in teaching. Hold a current license or privilege to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Texas.
  • Competence in all basic areas of nursing practice.
  • Communicate with the Nursing Program Coordinator for assignment and professional development every semester.
  • Receive direction from the Semester Coordinator and /or Lead Instructor of the course assignment.
  • Communication and collaboration with faculty team and clinical agencies and health team personnel.
  • To know the Texas Board of Nursing Rules and Regulations relating to Professional Nurse Education, Licensure and Practice for the State of Texas and implementation of them.
  • Technological/computer literacy.
  • Knowledgeable about Distance Learning processes and practices.
Flexibility in working with students in area of clinical expertise at required times and locations. Ability to work cooperatively and constructively with faculty and with nursing service personnel in clinical agencies. To know and follow the policies of the Nursing Department, the affiliated clinical facility, and sound teaching practices while supervising students in the clinical or simulation area. Facilitates, guides, and supervises students' progress in the laboratory/simulation and clinical area. Meet periodically with designated faculty for the purpose of monitoring and evaluating simulation and /or clinical learning experiences. Be committed to professional development and competence. To communicate with and work under the direction of the course lead instructor and the faculty member(s) to whom assigned. Execute other duties as assigned.
