The college seeks qualified individuals who are passionate about teaching a variety of nursing courses within DNA, LPN, and/or RN programs, delivered in face-to-face, hybrid, and online formats.

Full-time teaching responsibilities include:

Teaching the equivalent of 15 credit hours per semester Engaging students in the learning process Providing clinical supervision to students Developing courses and curriculum Advising students Maintaining accurate student records Faculty members also fully participate in nursing program development and evaluation, college activities and committees, and represent Brightpoint at community events and professional opportunities. Special Assignments May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor. KSA's/Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (must be enrolled in Master's Degree program), Master's Degree in Nursing preferred. Must have several years of experience in medical, surgical and/or pediatric nursing;excellent oral and written communications skills; ability to teach a combination of day, evening, weekend, hybrid, and/or online classes, and flexible to work at any of the College's locations. Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within and across institutional teams, coupled with a strong commitment to the mission of the community college. Commonwealth of Virginia nursing license or compact state nursing license. Successful completion and passing of a criminal background check. Additional Considerations Experience teaching at the college level, ability to use instructional technology, and knowledge of Virginia BON regulation and ACEN accreditation criteria.
