The college seeks qualified individuals who are passionate about teaching a diverse range of nursing courses, which may include Practical Nursing, Nursing, and Nurse Aide courses, delivered in face-to-face, hybrid, and/or online formats. Full-time teaching responsibilities include instruction equivalent to 15 credit hours per semester, actively engaging students in the learning process, providing clinical supervision, and contributing to course and curriculum development. Faculty members are also responsible for student advising and maintaining accurate student records. In addition, full-time faculty participate fully in nursing program development and evaluation, contribute to college activities and committees, and represent Brightpoint Community College in community and professional settings. Special Assignments May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor. KSA's/Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Nursing required (must be enrolled in a Master's degree program). Candidates must have a minimum of five years of nursing experience, including experience in medical surgical and/or pediatric nursing. Strong oral and written communication skills are essential. The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to teach a variety of course formats, including day, evening, weekend, hybrid, and/or online classes, and be flexible to work at any College location and assigned clinical sites. The position requires the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within and across institutional teams, along with a strong commitment to the community college mission. A current Commonwealth of Virginia nursing license or a compact state nursing license is required. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check.
