Job Description

University Description Founded in 1868, Hampton University is a leading historically black university (HBCU) located in the City of Hampton, a historic city in the Hampton Roads region, offering a peaceful yet intellectually stimulating environment for living and learning. The Hampton University main campus is centrally located between Virginia Beach and historic Williamsburg, along a beautiful waterfront. The University is a nationally renowned, privately endowed, co-educational, and nonsectarian institution. The University is "dedicated to the promotion of learning, building of character and preparation of promising students for positions of leadership and service." Job description and duties:
  • Teach assigned courses in a manner that promotes academic excellence and student engagement.
  • Provide instruction in areas of professional and clinical expertise.
  • Evaluate student learning outcomes and provide constructive feedback.
  • Assist in maintaining records and documentation pertinent to the School of Nursing.
  • Uphold confidentiality regarding faculty, staff, and students in compliance with federal laws and university policies.
  • Maintain regular office hours and demonstrate reliable attendance.
Qualifications:
A Master of Science degree in Nursing is required; a Doctorate is preferred. At least 3-5 years of clinical nursing experience required, 3-5 years of nursing educator experience in a university, hospital, or professional practices department preferred.
Requirements:
Unencumbered licensure status as an RN in the state of Virginia or one of the Compact States. Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certified (CPR)
