Located just outside of Seattle, WA, Lake Washington Institute of Technology (LWTech) was founded in 1949, and is the only public institute of technology in the state of Washington. LWTech offers 12 bachelor's degrees , 42 associate degrees , and 70 professional certificates in 41 areas of study , including STEM-focused programs in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. LWTech serves the Eastside and is located within the city of Kirkland, which is situated on the eastern shore of Lake Washington. As a member of the nursing faculty, you will have opportunities to collaborate with students and colleagues to meet curriculum objectives of the nursing program in clinical settings and in our SIM labs. The six quarter program leads to an AAST degree and preparation for the NCLEX. View information on the Nursing Program here.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Design, implement and evaluate curriculum in accordance to course and program objectives Identify individual learning needs and customize learning activities Design curriculum that fosters and supports cultural diversity and nondiscrimination Teach productive and constructive study skills to students Develop classroom and lab procedures in accordance to identified policies and procedures Maintain records that indicate student progress and meet college requirements Follow disciplinary procedures as prescribed and deal consistently and fairly with all students Create learning experiences that accommodate the unique needs of adult learners Post the class syllabus and students' grades via the online course system (currently Canvas)QUALIFICATIONS A
Bachelor's degree, from an accredited college or university for skills lab instruction, required Current WA state RN license Excellent writing and verbal communication skills Valid American Heart Association (AHA) CPR certification Current immunizations and the ability to successfully complete a background check required prior to employment Must be able to interact with diverse populations Due to the diversity of the college population, we encourage applicants who are multilingualPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university, preferred Or Master's in progress with three years work experience A minimum of 3 years' experience as a registered nurse; recent medical/surgical or specialty nursing, clinical experience preferred 2 years' experience in nursing education preferred College teaching experience preferred Familiarity with simulation equipment preferred Previous experience with an online course system (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard, Sakai, Moodle) preferredSUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Compensation Placement on the faculty salary schedule is based on an individual assessment of education and experience. The salary for part time faculty contracts shall be based upon the number of credits assigned the faculty member, the type of class taught, and the rates contained in the part time faculty salary schedule currently in effect and labeled Appendix B. Step C ranges from $926.99- $2,780.97 Step D ranges from $978.93
