Executive Director (RN)
  • Hospice Operations Madison, Alabama Purple Cow Recruiting is seeking an experienced Executive Director with a strong hospice leadership background, ideally as a Registered Nurse, to oversee hospice operations in Madison, Alabama.
This leadership opportunity is ideal for an RN leader who is passionate about operational excellence, regulatory compliance, team development, and delivering compassionate end-of-life care within a stable and growing hospice organization. The Executive Director will provide oversight of all branch operations, including clinical and operational performance, financial management, compliance, admissions oversight, quality improvement initiatives, and strategic growth. This leader will manage a fully staffed interdisciplinary hospice team supporting an average daily census of approximately 120 patients while ensuring exceptional patient and family care.   • 5:00 PM Key Responsibilities Provide executive leadership and operational oversight for hospice services Ensure compliance with Medicare Hospice Certification requirements and state/federal regulations Oversee clinical operations, admissions processes, quality initiatives, and census growth Lead budgeting, financial planning, and strategic operational initiatives Supervise and develop interdisciplinary hospice teams Partner with clinical leadership to maintain high standards of patient-centered hospice care Monitor operational performance metrics and implement process improvements Maintain survey readiness and regulatory compliance standards Report directly to the Governing Body regarding branch operations and organizational performance Foster a collaborative, mission-driven culture focused on compassionate care Compensation & Benefits Base salary: $80,000•$100,000 10% annual bonus opportunity Tuition assistance program Monthly cell phone allowance $150 Scrub allowance for new hires Full Benefits and 401K, PTO, About the Area Madison, Alabama, part of the Huntsville metro area, offers a strong healthcare presence, rapid community growth, and an excellent quality of life with a family-friendly atmosphere.
Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years of hospice leadership experience required Registered Nurse (RN) license strongly preferred and in good standing Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred Strong understanding of hospice operations, clinical workflows, and Medicare hospice regulations Proven leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution abilities Experience overseeing compliance, staffing, budgeting, admissions, and operational performance Demonstrated success leading, growing, or improving hospice programs and teams
