  • Emergency Services is a Registered Nurse who provides direct patient care and frontline clinical leadership within the Emergency Department.
Under the direction of the Department Director or Manager, this role oversees daily operations, coordinates patient care, supports nursing staff, and ensures compliance with policies and standards in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment. Essential Functions Delivers comprehensive emergency nursing care to patients across the lifespan, based on unit scope and patient acuity. Leads nursing operations on the unit by overseeing patient flow, staffing, assignments, and prioritization of care. Acts as a clinical resource to staff and assists with escalation of urgent or complex patient needs. Serves as liaison between nurses, providers, support personnel, and ancillary departments. Ensures timely communication and documentation of patient status, changes in condition, and critical events. Participates in the orientation, mentoring, and evaluation of unit nursing staff. Supports incident documentation, follow-up, and quality improvement activities. Ensures compliance with departmental procedures, hospital policies, and regulatory standards. Participates in emergency response drills and supports trauma or disaster preparedness activities. Models professionalism, accountability, and effective communication with patients, families, and the care team. Assists in shift scheduling, timekeeping, and performance feedback under direction of leadership. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Expectations Strong clinical knowledge of emergency care protocols, triage, and patient safety practices. Skilled in critical thinking, team coordination, and rapid decision-making. Proficient in the use of electronic health records and clinical documentation. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills. Ability to manage stress and multitask in urgent and unpredictable situations. Qualifications Education Postsecondary (Cert/Diploma/Program Grad) from an accredited school of nursing (Required) And Bachelor's Degree in nursing (Preferred) Licenses/Certifications RN
  • Registered Nurse
  • State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure in the state of practice Upon Hire (Required) And BCLS
  • Basic Life Support Upon Hire (Required) And ACLS
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support and PALS Upon Hire (Required) And TNCC
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course or ENPC certification Upon Hire (Preferred) Experience 2+ years clinical nursing experience in emergency services (Required) And Prior Experience as charge nurse or in a leadership role (Preferred)
Qualifications:
Education Postsecondary (Cert/Diploma/Program Grad) from an accredited school of nursing (Required) And Bachelor's Degree in nursing (Preferred) Licenses/Certifications RN
