Full Job Description Position Summary:
The Program Coordinator is responsible for ensuring high-quality care and regulatory compliance for individuals with developmental disabilities. This role places a strong emphasis on medication administration, health oversight, and regulation related to medication protocols. The Program Coordinator works closely with quality assurance and house managers to support the health, safety, and well-being of residents.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Oversight & Compliance Ensure the home operates in compliance with all DDD, state, and federal regulations Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, including MAR, Standing order (for PRN medications), discontinuation orders and ensuring they reflect the dosages on the most recent Medlist from prescribers. Participate in audits, inspections, and online appointments. Medication Administration & Health Management Oversee medication administration in accordance with physician orders and regulatory standards Monitor group homes on proper medication procedures and documentation (MARs) Conduct regular medication audits and ensure safe storage and handling of medications Monitor and participate in medical appointments and follow-ups Communicate with physicians, pharmacies, and healthcare providers as needed Person-Centered Care Support development and implementation of Individual Support Plans (ISPs) Ensure services are tailored to each resident's needs, preferences, and goals Promote independence, dignity, and community integration Communication & Coordination Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care Report significant changes in resident health or behavior and ensure changes are reflected within 24 hours
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required Certified Medication Technician (Med Tech) or equivalent experience strongly preferred Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a DDD or group home setting preferred Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred Knowledge of DDD regulations and healthcare protocols Current CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain) Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Skills & Competencies:
Strong knowledge of medication administration and documentation Excellent organizational and documentation skills Leadership abilities Strong communication and interpersonal skills Attention to detail and ability to ensure compliance Compassionate, patient, and person-centered approach
Working Conditions:
May require evenings, weekends, and on-call responsibilities Traveling to group homes Active role requiring standing, walking, and occasional lifting Fast-paced environment with potential for crisis management
