We currently operate several healthcare sites in Costa Mesa, Santa Ana, Mission Viejo, and Newport Beach. Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and bilingual Nurse Clinic Manager (RN) to lead and manage the nursing and back office clinical operations within our healthcare clinic. The ideal candidate will possess extensive nursing expertise, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels. As a Nurse Clinic Manager, you will oversee patient care delivery, manage clinical team members, ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, and promote a high standard of patient-centered services. This role offers an opportunity to impact community health positively while fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment. The Nurse Clinic Manager (NCM-RN) provides safe patient care by assisting clinic providers with treatments, procedures and clerical duties as defined in the Registered Nurse (RN) Scope of Practice. The NCM-RN demonstrates competence in patient care for infant, child, adolescent, and adult patient populations. This position supervises the work of Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs), Medical Assistants (MA) and Comprehensive Perinatal Services Program Coordinator (CPSP). The NCM-RN maintains regulatory compliance of nursing functions by working collaboratively with leads. . The NCM-RN will help with patient experience and flow from front to the back office and will work closely with clinic and organizational leaders to continuously improve patient care as well as functions of the clinic. RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages the care of patients in collaboration with other health professionals and members of the health care team in order to make decisions about treatment and attain health goals. Uses and practices basic assessment, e.g., data collection, and documents data in accordance with the standards of the profession. Reports the data to the provider or others for data synthesis and an assessment formulated. Contributes to evaluation of the patient's individualized interventions related to the care plan or treatment plan. Performs services requiring technical and manual skill. Performs basic nursing services, administers medication and communicates with patients with regards to the care plan and self-care requirements. Collects clinical data and documents findings in patient's medical record in compliance with standards and systems. Oversight of VFC/VFA/private stock and complete vaccination program/process. Ensure clinic is consistently health plan and regulatory compliance ready on a regular basis Works with Director of Nursing and Operations for clinic audits (CLIA, Managed care plan, Fire Safety, Vaccines, etc) Participates as a member of the health care team to carry out plan of care (Health Education, Disease Management, Billing, etc). Completes initial work up and records information in Electronic Health Record (EHR). Uses age-specific interventions for the pediatric and adult patient populations. Tracks the expiration dates of all back office medications and lab supplies; discards appropriately per clinic protocol when necessary. Procures and processes diagnostic laboratory specimens as ordered by the provider. Interprets provider's instructions to patients, and assists with emergencies. Performs venipuncture, dresses wounds and incisions, and administers medications by various routes as defined in the Registered Nurse Scope of Practice. Assists in maintaining various medical, laboratory, medication, and quality improvement logs. Consistently applies infection control policies and procedures. Evaluates walk-in patients and telephone patients to assess patients clinically, dispense health advice, dispenses referral information, and schedule patients appropriately by indication as defined in the Registered Nurse Scope of Practice. Updates medical records using the EHR (training provided). Assists with referrals to other clinical organizations and providers. Completes timely phone follow-up as ordered by clinical providers. Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Follows up with Care Teams for patient flow. Collaborates with the clinic leadership team in preparing for regulatory/quality audits. Oversees day-to-day operations of back office at designated clinic Delegate's tasks and responsibilities to back office staff on a daily basis as needed to ensure efficient flow of operations. Provides oversight and ensures staff accountability of all programs that Share Our Selves or the clinic site is enrolled in. Conducts routine one on one meetings at assigned clinical site with nursing/back office teams. Conducts team meetings for effective team and organizational communication Assists back office team with questions, issues, esclations or patient-related conflicts. Attends staff and clinic meetings as scheduled. May drive to trainings or other work sites. May work outside normal business hours on request or to complete tasks.
SUPERVISORY DUTIES
Leads and mentors direct reports to excellent performance; serves as role model for clinic back office department team members. Is up to date on Share Ourselves policies and procedures and enforces policies without favoritism. Promotes cooperation and minimizes conflict among team members. Supervises the Medical Assistants', Licensed Vocational Nurse's, and Registered Nurse's competency and quality of care. Completes supervisory duties timely and effectively, including interviewing, job training, mentoring, performance evaluations and/or corrective action processes. Promotes the development of team members through training and career support. Schedules team members for appropriate department coverage, monitors team members time and attendance in company system, makes corrections as needed and approves time off based on company practices. Reduces employer risk through compliance with HR practices and policies, including harassment and non-discrimination.
EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
Associate Degree required; BSN or MSN preferred Current CA State Board of Nursing Registered Nurse License required Active BLS certification Proficient nursing clinical skills Minimum of 5 years experience as RN clinical setting, experience in a primary care or ambulatory care environment i.e., medical clinic, community health center, FQHC or Urgent Care preferred Minimum of 2 years in supervisory or managerial level work experience in nursing/clinical setting. Bilingual in English/Spanish required Communicates well in oral and written English; proficiency in oral Spanish required Interacts effectively and respectfully with patients and clients from a wide range of cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, including individuals experiencing mental illness, substance use disorders, or homelessness. Knowledge of the Patient Centered Medical Home model of care, preferred. Successfully completes clinical competency validation including special care and management of equipment Achieves proficiency with EHR within three months of training Uses Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, internet, and Practice Management Systems efficiently; accurate keyboard skills •What do we offer?
