Pay Range:
$180,000•$208,000 per year Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Nurse Manager, Labor and Delivery to support clinical operations in a fast-paced, 24/7 hospital environment. This role is responsible for assisting the implementation of best practice models and patient care delivery systems across multiple locations while supporting safe, high-quality patient care. The Assistant Nurse Manager collaborates with physicians, healthcare providers, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. This role also oversees staffing, resource allocation, compliance, and clinical operations, while providing leadership, mentorship, and clinical supervision to nursing staff. Responsibilities Leadership & Team Development Leadership & Team Development Recommends developmental opportunities for others; builds collaborative, cross-functional relationships Operations & Supervision Supervises and coordinates daily activities of designated work team or unit Ensures policies and procedures are followed and monitors completion of work assignments Aligns team efforts, measures progress, and resolves escalated issues Develops work plans, coordinates resources, and removes performance obstacles Administrative & Hospital Operations Facilitates team meetings and supports management decisions Maintains utilization, productivity, and performance targets Oversees data collection, interpretation, and action planning Supervises cross-functional activities including patient safety, labor relations, and quality/risk management Maintains survey readiness and regulatory compliance Ensures budget targets are met through staffing and patient placement decisions Care Delivery (24/7 Environment) Manages care delivery operations and programs in a 24/7 environment Coordinates patient care assignments and resource utilization Supervises multidisciplinary teams and holds teams accountable for performance Supports emergency preparedness and ensures staff readiness Oversees nursing services and patient care delivery aligned with cost, quality, and utilization standards Performance Improvement & Quality Leads and supports strategic projects to improve quality, service, and operational efficiency Responds to escalations and addresses quality and safety issues Monitors performance metrics and tracks improvement initiatives Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., Nursing Practice Act, TJC, federal and state regulations) Supports continuous improvement of clinical practices and patient safety Solicits and acts on performance feedback; provides team members with feedback and mentors and coaches to drive performance improvement Pursues professional growth; provides training and development to talent and supports performance management expectations Implements, adapts, and stays up to date with organizational change, best practices, and processes Fosters open dialogue and motivates team members on collaboration Delegates tasks and decisions appropriately and provides guidance RequirementsBasic Qualifications Minimum two (2) years of experience in patient care delivery Additional Requirements Knowledge of patient safety, nursing principles, and emergency preparedness Understanding of evidence-based medicine principles Knowledge of confidentiality standards and record maintenance Preferred Qualifications Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the American Heart Association Certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) in a related practice area Pay $180,000•$208,000 per year Benefits 401(k) Health insurance (medical, dental, vision) Paid time off Tuition reimbursement Professional development and career growth opportunities Work Location Los Angeles Medical Center•Los Angeles, CA Onsite Associate's degree in Business, Nursing, Health Care, or related field OR minimum three (3) years of related experience in lieu of degree Minimum one (1) year of leadership experience Registered Nurse License (California) required at hire Basic Life Support (BLS) required at hire
