The ideal candidate will possess extensive clinical expertise, leadership capabilities, and a passion for delivering exceptional patient care. As an RN Supervisor, you will oversee nursing staff, coordinate patient services, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Your leadership will foster a collaborative environment that emphasizes quality, safety, and compassionate care across diverse healthcare settings. Responsibilities Supervise nursing staff to ensure delivery of comprehensive patient care in accordance with organizational policies and standards. Coordinate patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, and medical documentation to support accurate clinical evaluations. Oversee medication administration, IV infusion procedures, catheter care, and other clinical interventions with precision and adherence to protocols. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations, infection control practices, and safety guidelines to protect patient confidentiality and well-being. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, therapists, and case managers to develop effective discharge planning and treatment strategies. Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems such as Epic or Cerner for documentation, scheduling, and reporting purposes. Provide mentorship and supervision to nursing staff, fostering professional development and team cohesion in fast-paced environments such as ICU or emergency departments. Conduct regular audits of medical records, ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases), and utilization review processes to optimize patient outcomes and regulatory compliance. Skills Extensive experience with Epic EMR systems or similar electronic health record platforms such as eClinicalWorks or Athenahealth. Critical care experience in settings such as ICU, Level I Trauma Center, or Level II Trauma Center environments. Proficiency in managing complex clinical procedures including ventilator management, spinal taps, cardiac catheterization, and sterile processing techniques. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and diagnostic evaluation methods relevant to acute care and geriatrics. Demonstrated leadership in supervising nursing teams within hospital medicine or long-term care facilities such as nursing homes or assisted living communities. Familiarity with
ICD-9/ICD-10
coding systems for accurate medical documentation and billing purposes. Experience working with diverse patient populations including pediatrics (PICU), neonatal ventilator management, dementia care, behavioral health, and patients with developmental disabilities. Ability to perform physical examinations, specimen collection/processing, phlebotomy (venipuncture), suturing, and basic life support (BLS). Knowledge of infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, airway management strategies, and pain management practices. Strong organizational skills in discharge planning, utilization management/review processes, case management activities, and triage procedures.
