Job Description

DEFINITION
The Nursing Program Clinical Coordinator is responsible for planning and organizing the nursing clinical and lab courses, including clinical sites and facilities, orientation and class scheduling, and preceptor assignments where applicable. The Clinical Coordinator is also responsible for acquiring, contracting, monitoring, and evaluating all clinical sites for nursing courses and student experiences in coordination with the Director of Nursing.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
The Clinical Coordinator has the same duties as the nursing instructor but has been assigned additional responsibilities to assist the Director of Nursing and is a support person for both instructors and students. The Clinical Coordinator provides coverage in clinical, skills, and theory instruction as needed or as assigned by the Director.

Ensure that faculty meets the credentialing requirements of assigned facilities Ensure that all required paperwork is submitted to the clinical facilities within required time frames. Coordinate an orientation program for all new clinical faculty to ensure that program outcomes are met Coordinate and initiate relationships with community partners Initiate new clinical site relationships Identifies and formulates needed clinical contracts with all clinical facilities and assists the Director of Nurses with BVNPT facility application process Weekly visits to each site currently in use by students; documentation of visits. Fosters existing site relationships Ensures that all Student Training Agreements are current Ensures clinical site evaluations are conducted each semester Coordinates orientations to all clinical facilities Assists with student rotation assignments Assist the Director of Nurses in completion of BVNPT facility application process Cover clinical, skills, and theory instruction as needed or as assigned by the Director Assists with the student remediation and evaluation process Provide effective counseling to staff and students in the clinical setting In an emergency situation, will arrange or provide substitute coverage for instructors Engage organizational processes, as appropriate, to address academic difficulties and clinical compliance and competency issues Assesses labs and equipment for readiness including: Equipment and supplies, and their security Inventory and reorder needed lab supplies Formulate budget recommendations Distribution of student clinical packs Assists faculty with skills testing as needed Participate in required department meeting and projects, as assigned Accept and complete additional related duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Current unimcumbered RN license Bachelor's degree in nursing or related field. Masters in Nursing preferred At least 1-2 years' experience working in a nursing education program Other A valid California Driver's License may be required. Knowledge of community resources
WORKING CONDITIONS
• Some travel to clinical sites • Normal school environment Schedule changes may occur based on clinical needs
