Where You'll Work Mercy McMahon Terrace is located adjacent to Mercy General Hospital in the heart of East Sacramento. By providing quality care services through its assisted living program, along with the maintenance-free lifestyle available with independent living, residents at Mercy McMahon Terrace are free to focus their energy on living their life to the fullest. One California Job Summary and Responsibilities As a Nurse Manager of Care, you'll oversee a department of frontline nurses caring for patients. Your previous experience in acute care, LTC, or nursing homes adds tremendous value to our nursing team.
Every day you will advocate for your fellow nurses as you support them in reaching their full potential, which aligns with your department's operational goals and objectives.
To thrive in this role, you need to be accountable and confident. You're an excellent communicator in 1:1 interactions and in front of groups. It's also important for you to be comfortable holding tough conversations, as you are responsible for the performance of your people and your unit. Responsible for providing an environment in which residents can maintain independence to the fullest extent possible in a warm community atmosphere with privacy and the comforts of home. Coordinates the resident care to meet the requirements for ongoing facility re-licensure by the Department of Social Services. Hires, trains, schedules, evaluates and oversees work of staff in the Resident Care department including designing and providing a departmental orientation for resident care staff. Sets schedules and assigns responsibilities for the care given to residents. Supervises staff giving treatments, medications, and assisting residents with the activities of daily living.
Supervises staff carrying out doctors' prescriptions and documentation of such actions. Facilitates regular departmental staff meetings. Controls supply budget and orders supplies as needed. Ensures timely and cost efficient operations. Ensures major equipment in the Resident Care area is in good and safe state of repair and operating condition. Ensures resident care area is maintained in an organized manner. Controls supply budget and orders supplies as needed. Job Requirements Required 5 years Experience as an R.N. or L.V.N. in a position having some contact with a senior population. Management experience.
