This position will work closely with leadership and team members from Hillcrest Medical Center Operating Room and its 11 ORs. Hillcrest is a Level One Trauma Center. The Assistant Nurse Manager is involved in ensuring optimal patient outcomes through effective leadership and/or provision of patient care delivery in assigned nursing unit(s) or area(s). Promotes environment for a shared voice in nursing practice and exchange of ideas to continually improve nursing and patient care outcomes. Accountable for the quality, safety, patient experience and cost-effectiveness of patient care. Consults and collaborates with other health care professionals to coordinate the management of patient care. Serves as a resource to staff, physicians, students and others. Supervises staff involved in providing clinical patient care. Assists in ensuring the quality of patient care delivery in a specific patient care area and serves as a role model for professional nursing practice. Assists with the administration and management of personnel, fiscal, and material resources. May assume full responsibility for the unit in delegated areas and in the absence of the manager. While not required, a cover letter is highly recommended when applying to this position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Nursing is required. Registered Nurse (RN) issued by the state of California. BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date. Five (5+) or more years or relevant experience, including at least three (3) years of recent OR RN experience in acute care. Demonstrated hospital management skills, with progressive expertise in patient care services. Knowledge to manage disaster incidents, sentinel events and ability to problem solve with critical thinking skills. Demonstrates knowledge of relevant healthcare information technology and patient care workflows and processes. Proven knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements, as well as related legislative, accreditation, licensing and compliance environments. Demonstrated hospital management skills, with progressive expertise in patient care services. Knowledge to manage disaster incidents, sentinel events and ability to problem solve with critical thinking skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master's Degree in Nursing or relevant area. CNOR. One (1) year or more of recent supervisor or management experience. Experience scrubbing and circulating.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
Assistant Nurse Manager positions are hourly and eligible for shift differentials. Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs. Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range:
$132,600 - $259,800 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent:
$63.51 - $124.43 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
