Within the Utilization Management and Discharge Planning service line, the Nurse Manager of Utilization Management Discharge Planning will champion end-to-end Utilization Review, Care Coordination, Case Management, and Care Management to streamline throughput, reduce avoidable days, and elevate patient experience; this program partners closely with hospitalists, surgeons, APPs, pharmacy, social work, and therapy to deliver high-value care and timely transitions, and the hospital is recognized for outstanding patient survival rates in cardiology, including high performance in heart attack, heart failure, and heart bypass surgery, a meaningful differentiator for a Nursing Manager of Utilization Management dedicated to quality and outcomes.

Reporting to a seasoned Nurse Director of Utilization Management and Discharge Planning and collaborating with Physician Advisors, quality leaders, and finance partners, the Nurse Manager of UM and Discharge Planning will oversee daily operations, staffing and productivity, clinical documentation alignment, concurrent review (InterQual/MCG), regulatory readiness (CMS, Joint Commission), payer authorization and denials management, escalation pathways, observation optimization, readmission reduction, and safe, patient-centered discharge planning; this Nurse Manager of Utilization Review will be supported by friendly nurses and a diverse healthcare professional team that values shared governance, transparent feedback loops, and continuous improvement.
