We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Nurse Supervisor to provide frontline leadership for our South Bay oncology clinic and infusion services. In this critical leadership role, you will oversee daily clinical and operational activities, ensuring the delivery of safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care within a fast-paced ambulatory oncology environment. The Nurse Supervisor serves as a key operational leader, supporting clinic and infusion workflows, staffing coordination, patient access, throughput management, physician collaboration, and staff supervision. Working closely with nursing leadership and multidisciplinary teams, you will help optimize operations, address real-time challenges, and maintain a seamless patient experience for a complex oncology population. The Nurse Supervisor role plays an essential part in sustaining operational excellence, supporting caregiver engagement, and ensuring timely access to care. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader who thrives in a collaborative environment, demonstrates strong clinical and operational expertise, and is passionate about advancing quality, safety, and patient-centered care. As a successful candidate, you will:
Staff Supervision:
Lead and manage a team of Medical Assistants and Laboratory Phlebotomists, including performance evaluations, competency validations, and training staff on new workflows to ensure consistent high-quality care.
Policy and Procedure Adherence:
Monitor and ensure clinical staff alignment with current policies and procedures, maintaining compliance with quality and safety measures.
Scheduling and Time Management:
Create staffing schedules, monitor time cards, and manage clinic throughput to optimize patient care and staff efficiency.
EPIC In-Basket Management:
Oversee and monitor the EPIC in-basket, ensuring timely responses and efficient communication within the clinical team.
Resource Support:
Serve as a resource for staff during busy periods, ensuring they have the support they need to provide exceptional care to patients.
Meetings and Collaboration:
Hold regular meetings with your staff to promote teamwork, attend operational and nursing meetings for the clinical network sites, and actively contribute to the continuous improvement of clinical operations. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Your qualifications should include:
Bachelor's Degree or Master's degree in Nursing is required Current California Registered Nurse license Minimum of three years of RN experience Previous supervisory or program coordination experience (preferred) ONS Chemo/Bio Certificate (or obtain within 6 months of hire) Current BLS certification from American Heart Association OCN certification (or to be obtained within 1 year of hire) City of Hope employees pay is based on the following criteria: work experience, qualifications, and work location.
