The Clinical Supervisor (Registered Nurse) is responsible for the direct clinical oversight and supervision of nursing services and caregiver support provided in home and community-based settings. This part-time, in-person role focuses on field supervision, quality assurance, and compliance with Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment regulations governing home care agencies. The Clinical Supervisor ensures that patient care is delivered safely and effectively in accordance with physician orders, professional nursing standards, and applicable state and federal regulations. This role includes oversight of licensed nurses and family caregivers, ensuring competency, adherence to care plans, and proper delegation practices. Responsibilities Supervise and mentor nursing staff, including registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and certified nursing assistants, ensuring adherence to clinical protocols and standards of care Oversee patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, and medical documentation to ensure accurate and timely records in electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner Coordinate interdisciplinary team activities to develop comprehensive care plans tailored to individual patient needs across acute care, long-term care, behavioral health, geriatrics, and specialized units like ICU or pediatric settings Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations, infection control protocols, and safety procedures including sterile technique and aseptic practices Conduct regular audits of medical records, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding accuracy, and utilization review processes to optimize patient outcomes and regulatory adherence Facilitate staff training on new procedures such as IV infusion, catheterization, ventilator management, or wound suturing while promoting continuous education Lead discharge planning efforts by coordinating with case management teams to ensure smooth transitions of care for patients with complex needs such as dementia or developmental disabilities Requirements Valid RN license in good standing with current state registration Proven experience in critical care environments such as ICU, Level I or Level II trauma centers, or emergency medicine settings Demonstrated supervisory or nurse management experience leading multidisciplinary teams Extensive clinical background in areas like medical-surgical units, geriatrics, behavioral health, pediatrics (including neonatal ventilator management), or home care services Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks or Athenahealth; familiarity with
ICD-10/ICD-9
