Castle Rock Colorado Brookside Inn, a privately owned, skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility in Castle Rock, is seeking a compassionate and conscientious Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to work as a Charge Nurse on Friday/Saturday/Sunday. $44.00 - $50.00 per hourLPN:

The position will remain open until it is filled Responsibilities Monitor patient's condition and assess their needs to provide the best possible care and advice Work with the providers and perform administrative duties Direct the daily activities of the nursing staff in accordance with the current federal, state, and local regulations and guidelines and established facility policies and procedures. Ensure "hand off" communication each shift. Supervise Physician telephone or verbal orders. Supervise implementation of new medication orders and/or all doctor's orders. Answer any questions laboratories may have regarding test requests Observe and interpret patient's symptoms and communicate them to physicians Collaborate with physicians and nurses to devise individualized care plans for patients Perform routine procedures (blood pressure measurements, administering injections etc.) and complete charting Adjust and administer patient's medication and provide treatments according to physician's orders Inspect the facilities and act to maintain excellent hygiene, safety, and infection control (decontaminating equipment, sanitizing surfaces, preparing beds etc.) Provide nursing leadership to the daily assigned nursing personnel. Provide direct care skills such as colostomy changes, tube feedings, wound care, suctioning, IV administrator, etc. in accordance with current policies and procedures. Perform rounds to ensure resident needs are being met and personnel are performing their assigned duties. Foster a supportive and compassionate environment to care for patients and their families Expand knowledge and capabilities by attending educational workshops, conferences etc. Collaborate with other members of the interdisciplinary team as needed to ensure residents' needs are holistically met. Ensures that there is adequate stock of medications, supplies, equipment and notifies appropriate personnel of needs. Complete medication destruction and returns. Complete medication room and nursing cart audits. Complete and monitor temperature logs and suction machine. Complete Point Click Care dashboard review. Complete skills charting review. Provide feedback to Director of Nursing regarding staff performance for annual evaluations of nursing staff. Provide support to Director of Nursing regarding education and disciplinary actions for nursing staff. Qualifications Excellent knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures Current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the state of Colorado. Current CPR certification Advanced education and training in nursing, business or other disciplines related to the position (preferred). At least one year experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) (preferred) Previous management/supervisory experience (preferred) At least one year experience in long-term care (preferred) In-depth knowledge of health, safety, and infection control guidelines and procedures (sanitation, decontamination etc.) and willingness to follow them at all times A team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills Responsible, reliable, dependable, and compassionate Outstanding organizational and multi-tasking skills Patient with excellent problem-solving skillsSimilar jobs in Castle Rock, CO
