Job Description
7-3pm RN Supervisor Meriden Health & Rehab Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated RN Supervisor to lead our nursing team during the 7 AM to 3 PM shift. In this vital role, you will oversee patient care delivery, ensure compliance with healthcare standards, and foster a positive environment that promotes excellence in nursing practice. Your leadership will drive team collaboration, uphold safety protocols, and enhance patient outcomes in a fast-paced healthcare setting. This position offers an exciting opportunity for experienced registered nurses committed to making a meaningful difference in patient care. Duties Supervise and coordinate daily nursing operations, ensuring high-quality patient care across medical-surgical, geriatrics, behavioral health, and long-term care units Provide clinical oversight for patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, medication administration, IV infusion, catheter care, and wound management Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain accurate medical documentation using EMR systems such as Epic or Cerner Lead staff scheduling, performance evaluations, and team management to foster a motivated and efficient nursing team Oversee infection control practices, sterile processing, and aseptic techniques to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff Facilitate discharge planning, triage procedures, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams including case management and utilization review Support staff training on advanced skills such as ventilator management, cardiac catheterization protocols, and ICD coding for accurate medical records Skills Extensive experience with Epic EMR systems and proficiency in
ICD-9/ICD-10
coding for accurate documentation and billing Critical care experience in ICU or Level I Trauma Center settings with familiarity in airway management, ventilator use, and acute pain management Strong leadership skills with supervising experience in nursing management or team leadership roles Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and medical terminology to perform thorough patient assessments and physical examinations Ability to work effectively with diverse populations including seniors, individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia care needs, and pediatric patients such as neonates or toddlers Competence in performing IV insertions, phlebotomy, specimen collection/processing, suturing, and basic life support (BLS) certification Excellent communication skills for collaboration with healthcare teams and providing health coaching to patients and families This RN Supervisor role is ideal for motivated professionals eager to lead by example while ensuring exceptional patient care.
