Job Summary Under the direction of the Clinical Nurse Manager, the Assistant Nurse Manager provides hands-on clinical and operational leadership for a fast-paced medical-surgical inpatient unit. This role serves as a senior clinical resource for nursing staff, supporting evidence-based practice, patient flow, quality outcomes, and staff development. The Assistant Nurse Manager works closely with the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, high-quality, patient-centered care—especially for complex patient populations—while supporting daily operations and maintaining strong clinical standards. Key Responsibilities Provide visible, hands-on clinical leadership and real-time coaching to nursing staff Support patient throughput, including admissions, transfers, and discharges Promote evidence-based practice, quality, and patient safety initiatives Serve as a clinical resource and mentor to RNs and charge nurses Support staffing coordination and shift-to-shift continuity of care Partner with leadership to improve unit metrics and performance Schedule 36-hours position with flexible scheduling options, including: Three 8-hour shifts + one 12-hour shift, or Three 12-hour shifts with alternating patterns Includes designated overlap into evening shifts to support operations.
Qualifications Required:
Current RN license (state specific) BSN from an accredited nursing program
Preferred:
