MedStar Washington Hospital Center is seeking a dedicated and visionary Director of Nursing to lead the Clinical Administrators Rapid Response Team. As a member of our Division of Nursing's (DON) leadership/management team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of patient care in this specialized department. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring timely, high-quality clinical response across the organization while supporting operational excellence and patient safety. Position Overview The Director of Nursing is responsible for the leadership and management of the Clinical Administrators and Rapid Response nurses. Recognized as a professional role model who promotes an environment that supports the goals, mission, vision, philosophy and values of the Division of Nursing and MedStar Health. As the Nursing Director, you will provide strategic oversight and leadership, driving initiatives that enhance patient outcomes, throughput and interdisciplinary collaboration. You will play a critical role in advancing a culture of safety, accountability and clinical excellence. The Nursing Director must have strong collaboration and communication skills, experience with data collection, and have a significant critical care knowledge base. Both roles are invaluable in the care delivery of patients. Key Responsibilities Oversee the operational, personnel, and financial activities of the unit to ensure efficient and effective resource utilization. Direct and coordinate the activities of professional and support personnel within the department. Collaborate with the nursing leadership team, Medical Staff, and leaders of other departments/disciplines to ensure seamless continuity of patient care. Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and MedStar Health's mission, vision, and values. Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in the fields of nursing and health care through variety of professional activities. Participates in hospital/ entity or system committee task forces interdisciplinary forums and projects.
