In this vital role, you will oversee the daily operations of the operating room, ensuring that all procedures are conducted efficiently, safely, and in compliance with healthcare regulations. You will coordinate with surgical staff, anesthesia teams, nursing personnel, and support services to deliver exceptional patient care. Your leadership will foster a collaborative environment focused on quality, safety, and continuous improvement. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence surgical excellence and patient outcomes in a fast-paced healthcare setting. Responsibilities Manage the scheduling and staffing of surgical teams, ensuring optimal shift coverage and resource allocation. Supervise the preparation and sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment, maintaining strict adherence to infection control protocols. Oversee patient monitoring before, during, and after procedures, ensuring safety and comfort at all times. Review medical records, documentation, and case notes for accuracy and compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and update individualized care plans for surgical patients. Monitor departmental budgets, control supplies inventory, and ensure cost-effective practices without compromising quality. Lead training sessions on EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems, medical terminology, physiology, anatomy knowledge, and documentation review to enhance team competency. Ensure compliance with healthcare standards such as Medicare regulations and hospital policies related to acute care, hospice care, home health, assisted living, and home care settings. Supervise staff performance through coaching, evaluating skills in nurse management, shift management, and supervising experience. Facilitate continuous quality improvement initiatives focused on patient safety and operational efficiency. Qualifications Proven management experience in a healthcare setting with a focus on surgical or critical care environments. Demonstrated supervising experience leading multidisciplinary teams including nurses, technicians, and support staff. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and case management principles. Familiarity with EMR systems and medical records management to ensure accurate documentation review. Experience working within HIPAA guidelines to protect patient privacy and confidentiality. Ability to oversee patient monitoring processes during complex procedures in acute care or hospice settings. Skills in budgeting, resource planning, and shift management to optimize departmental operations. Excellent leadership qualities with the ability to motivate staff while fostering a culture of safety and excellence. Knowledge of Medicare regulations along with experience managing care plans for residents in assisted living or home health environments is preferred.
