Job Title:
Nursing Supervisor RN Job Summary Directs and supervises the activities of all Nursing Department personnel, in the development of nursing care in accordance with the vision, goals, and objectives of the Nursing Department. The Nursing Supervisor acts as a liaison between Nursing and other departments and as an administrative representative in the absence of Nursing Administration in the Nursing Home, Assisted Living Facility, and Hospital. Essential Job Functions Participates in the selection, training, evaluation, coaching and counseling of staff. Supervises and coordinates resident care by ensuring proper assessments, care plans and chart documentation are in place per established department guidelines, policies and procedures. Conducts daily rounds in all the campus entities to evaluate patient care and staff performance and to resolve patient concerns as they arise in the Nursing Home, Assisted Living Facility, and Hospital. Assists and supports the Nurse Manager in unit operations planning and design. Performs administrative duties for all Nursing Units in the absence of the Clinical Manager and Nursing Administration Ensures both staff and own personal and professional development through attendance of in-services, meetings, and continuing education courses. Coordinates the admission process and follow up to ensure complete assessment and documentation. Cooperates with the Scheduling department to ensure adequate staffing coverage. Other duties as assignment by the Director of Nursing or designee. Communicates concerns and updates with administrator and/or nurse leader of the respective entity. Job Requirements Education Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing, Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred Experience Must have minimum three years' experience as an RN Licenses/Certifications Current RN license by the Florida State Board of Nursing Current American Heart Association BLS Certification
AHA ACLS
certification preferred Abilities Required Knowledge of long-term care. Skills in decision-making, communication, staff development, and quality improvement. Demonstrates a caring attitude toward MJH residents, patients, family members, employees, and other facility guests Functional Demands Environment Work Conditions Normal working condition with adequate lighting and ventilation Toxic or caustic chemicals; bio-hazardous waste; flammable, explosive gas Infectious Material Exposure Routine exposure to blood, bodily fluids, tissues.
