Full-Time | Days (Rotating Weekends) Position Summary A leading acute care hospital in Central Florida is seeking an experienced and dynamic Nurse Manager of Surgical Services to oversee perioperative operations. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring high-quality patient care, operational efficiency, and a collaborative team environment across surgical services. The Nurse Manager will play a key role in driving clinical excellence, staff engagement, and departmental performance while supporting organizational goals related to quality, safety, and patient satisfaction. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily operations of the Surgical Services department, including the Operating Room (OR), Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR), Anesthesia, and Sterile Processing Lead and manage clinical teams to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care delivery Develop and manage staff schedules, staffing models, and departmental workflows Support recruitment, onboarding, performance evaluations, and staff development initiatives Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, accreditation requirements, and hospital policies Collaborate with physicians, clinical leaders, and interdisciplinary teams to improve outcomes and patient experience Monitor departmental budgets, supply usage, and equipment needs to promote fiscal responsibility Drive quality improvement initiatives, patient safety measures, and performance metrics Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous learning Scope of Role Oversees approximately 50 full-time staff members with additional PRN team members Responsible for multiple functional areas including OR, CVOR, Anesthesia, and Sterile Processing Reports directly to the Director of Surgical Services Works closely with surgical teams in a high-acuity, trauma-designated facility
Qualifications Licensure & Education:
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Florida or compact state eligibility) Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred
Experience:
Minimum 3 years of acute care Operating Room (OR) experience At least 1 year of recent OR leadership experience (Charge Nurse, Coordinator, Supervisor, or Manager level) Demonstrated experience managing teams in a surgical or perioperative environment
Certifications:
