This is a senior-level clinical support role designed for someone with strong cardiology experience who can function confidently within scope of practice under physician supervision while supporting workflow efficiency, quality, and team development. This is not an entry-level position. Prior cardiology experience is required. Position Overview The Clinical Lead will serve as the primary clinical support for an assigned pod of providers and staff.
This individual will:
Manage higher-level cardiology workflows Support complex medication management processes Assist with cardiac diagnostic coordination Serve as a resource and mentor to medical assistants Partner with providers and leadership to ensure smooth daily operations Key Responsibilities Advanced Clinical Support (Within Scope) Perform detailed medication reconciliation for complex cardiac patients Triage cardiac-related patient calls and portal messages appropriately Facilitate urgent testing and follow-up coordination Assist with stress tests, echocardiography, Holter/event monitors, and other cardiac diagnostics Support care coordination for CHF, CAD, AFib, PAD, hypertension, and device patients Ensure timely follow-up of labs, imaging, and test results Clinical Leadership Serve as lead within assigned pod Provide guidance and support to medical assistants Assist with onboarding and mentoring of new team members Maintain workflow consistency and quality standards Identify inefficiencies and proactively problem-solve Escalate safety concerns appropriately Qualifications LPN, RN, EMT or medical licensure Minimum 5 years cardiology experience required Strong understanding of cardiovascular disease and cardiac medications Experience in high-volume outpatient cardiology preferred EMR proficiency required (Athena experience preferred) Excellent communication and organizational skills Ability to manage urgency while maintaining professionalism Ideal Candidate Clinically confident but understands scope boundaries Calm under pressure Proactive and accountable Comfortable supporting multiple providers Interested in leadership growth within cardiology What We Offer Competitive compensation based on experience Stable, established cardiology practice Physician-led environment Leadership opportunity within a high-performing team
