Critical Care Unit Position Summary:
The Nurse Manager is accountable for the implementation of the vision, mission and values of Kootenai Health and the Department of Nursing within the assigned area of responsibility.Responsibilities:
Plans, directs, coordinates, coaches and evaluates the operational, fiscal and personnel activities within department to ensure the provision of quality patient care 24 hours a day Contributes to the strategic planning process and attainment of goals Continually advocates for available resources to promote efficient, effective, safe and compassionate nursing care based on current standards of practice Assumes the role of patient advocate when necessary to assist in clarifying and evaluating ethical issues and supports cultural practices Supervises and fosters a healing environment for our staff and patients Promotes shared decision making on the unit level and hospital Professional Nursing Council Acts as a resource and facilitates collaboration between nursing personnel and other health care disciplines throughout the organization and within the healthcare community Accountable for promoting ongoing development of all staff and for maintaining a professional environment in which all staff can grow and develop Promotes the ongoing leadership development of front line leadership Leads and directs the work of others Performs other related duties as assigned Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assignedRequirements and Minimum Qualifications:
Graduate of a nationally accredited nursing program Licensed as a RN by the Idaho Board of Nursing OR licensure pending as documented by temporary licensure OR current RN licensure from a state participating in the "multi-state privilege to practice" compact with Idaho BSN required Minimum of 3 years' experience as a charge nurse or other equivalent leadership experience Master's degree in nursing or relevant healthcare field preferred Current approved leadership certification required after meeting eligibility requirements BLS Required. Current AHA Healthcare provider, American Red Cross, AHA Health Saver or KH BLS within 60 days of hireWorking Conditions:
Must be able to maintain a standing and/or sitting position Typical equipment used in a clinical job Must be able to stoop, crouch or bend Must be able to lift or move up to 35 lbAbout Kootenai Health:
