OR Charge Nurse (RN)

Arlington Heights Surgery Center is building a team for our new eye surgery center specializing in cataract, retinal, and oculoplastic procedures. Our surgery center operates Monday through Friday with no call, no weekends, and no holidays . We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Charge Nurse to join our team on a full‑time basis. Position Overview The Charge Nurse plays a vital leadership role in overseeing the daily operations of the surgical center. This position is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing all clinical activities in alignment with the facility's policies, procedures, and mission. Key Responsibilities Supervise operating room, pre‑operative, and post‑operative staff while managing patient flow Coordinate daily, weekly, and monthly staff schedules to ensure appropriate coverage Assign staff appropriately and ensure team members are present, prepared, and ready to work at scheduled times Oversee materials and inventory management to ensure required equipment and supplies are available Utilize effective conflict‑resolution techniques and promote teamwork Work collaboratively with staff to maintain a clean, safe, and inspection‑ready environment Participate in direct patient care as needed Ensure compliance with all local, state, federal, and accrediting‑body regulations Manage the environment of care, including personnel, equipment, and supplies Oversee staff education, training, and performance evaluations Serve as the internal risk manager Promote a positive professional image of the facility to physicians, patients, insurers, and the community Additional duties may be assigned at the discretion of the Clinical Director. This role may delegate responsibilities as appropriate, with approval from the Clinical Director.

Experience:

charge nurse, lead nurse, or supervisory nursing role: 1 year (Preferred) ambulatory surgery center (ASC): 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

BLS, ACLS, and PALS (Required) RN License (Required) Ability to
