About the
Role:
As the Assistant Nurse Manager, you will play a vital role in supporting our Pre Post Care and MRI units and enhancing the operations of our multidisciplinary healthcare team. This position is ideal for someone seeking to advance their nursing career within Indiana's premier healthcare system. The core schedule for this role is day shift, however, there is an expectation for off-shift rounding at least 1x per week. The Pre Post Care Unit (PPCU) is a 42-bed unit that supports 16 ORs, 2 Cath labs, and 2 IRs. This equates to 40-60 patients per day staffing 14-22 nurses. The MRI is a 7-bed unit that supports 2 general anesthesia scanners averaging 10-15 patients per day. Why Join IU Health? Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the unit Manager to develop and implement action plans focused on quality and safety improvements, care affordability, and enhancing patient and team member experiences. Lead the execution of these action plans and systematically evaluate their effectiveness. Contribute as a member of the interprofessional team, fostering an environment where the team is motivated to achieve exceptional patient outcomes and organizational excellence. Advocate for and promote evidence-based practices and professional nursing standards to advance nursing practice. Onboard and train new team members. Participate as a member of the leadership team for a 24/7 operational unit, which includes responsibilities on weekends and holidays.
Qualifications:
Graduate of accredited school of nursing. Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree required. Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license. Required Basic Life Support certification through the AHA. Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies. Previous leadership experience preferred. 3+ years of Ambulatory nursing experience preferred. Pediatric experience preferred.
