Job Description

Salary:
Starting at $35-40 an hour, based on experience and certifications + full benefits
Schedule:
Monday-Friday 6:30 AM-4:00 PM No nights, weekends, or holiday shifts
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Charge Nurse to lead and coordinate patient care within a surgical setting. In this role, you will oversee the treatment of surgical patients, provide direct patient care before, during, and after procedures, and support both patients and their families. You will also step into a supervisory role in the absence of the Director of Nursing, ensuring high-quality care, compliance with regulations, and effective team performance.
Job Responsibilities:
Direct and supervise nursing staff, ensuring optimal performance and effective communication. Oversee staff schedules to meet patient needs and regulatory standards. Provide guidance, training, and professional development to the nursing team. Assist with preparation for inspections and compliance surveys. Deliver direct patient care in pre-surgical, operative, and recovery periods. Maintain quality and safety standards, adhering to state regulations, infection-control policies, and HIPAA confidentiality. Provide emotional and psychological support to patients, families, and staff. Monitor processes to ensure compliance with internal policies and relevant regulatory guidelines.
Qualifications:
BS/BSN degree required. Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Indiana. Current Basic and Advanced Cardiac Life Support certifications. Minimum of 1-year experience in surgical services preferred. Strong judgment, problem-solving skills, adaptability, and attention to detail.
