Job Description

Nurse Manager The Nurse Manager will be a staff nurse responsible for assisting the Administrator in nurse supervision, staffing, education, and patient safety. She will be a leader and support for the birth center staff and maintain communication between nursing staff, medical staff, and board of directors.
Qualifications:
Registered Nurse with ASN degree or higher required Maternal-child care experience preferred Leadership/management experience preferred
Supervision:
Reports directly to Board of Directors Duties and Responsibilities Supervises nurses and birth assistants including assigning duties and staff scheduling Maintains communication with administrator, board of directors and medical staff Participates in case review meetings, board meetings and quarterly peer review meetings Coordinates patient education with local resources ( lactation, childbirth classes, etc) Reviews and regularly updates chart forms as necessary to improve clinical outcomes and meet requirements for IDOH and CABC. Provides education on the midwifery model of care and birth center care to patients and the public. Participate in CQI committee to identify factors that negatively impact quality of care and help find solutions to improve patient safety and care Perform or assign staff member to monthly facility safety rounds Coordinate safety drills and in-services with administrator to maintain a high level of safety for patients and staff Devise nursing and birth assistant schedule to ensure adequate staffing for patient needs and review with administrator. Assist with filing birth certificates in a timely manner In charge of OSHA safety and HIPPA compliance
Pay:
$40.85 - $49.19 per hour
