Nursing Administration Reports To:
Director of Nursing The Ward Clerk (Non-Certified) provides administrative and clerical support to the nursing department to ensure efficient daily operations and quality resident care. This position serves as a communication link between nursing staff, residents, families, physicians, and other departments while maintaining accurate records and documentation. Typical duties include maintaining resident charts, answering phones, assisting with admissions and discharges, coordinating communication, and supporting unit workflow. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Answer and direct incoming telephone calls in a professional manner. Greet residents, family members, visitors, and vendors. Maintain resident medical records, charts, and documentation. File, scan, copy, and organize nursing and administrative records. Assist with resident admissions, transfers, and discharge paperwork. Update census reports and resident information in electronic systems. Communicate resident-related information to appropriate departments. Schedule appointments, transportation, and other resident services as needed. Order and maintain nursing station supplies. Monitor and maintain an organized nurses' station and work area. Assist nursing staff with non-clinical administrative duties. Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations and facility policies. Perform other duties as assigned by nursing leadership. High school diploma or GED. Basic computer skills, including typing, data entry, email, and Microsoft Office. Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
Preferred:
Previous clerical, receptionist, or healthcare office experience. Experience in a nursing home, long-term care, or rehabilitation setting. Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and medical terminology. Schedule Part-Time Flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed Approximately 20-29 hours per week
