Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Charge Nurse to join our healthcare team. The Charge Nurse will play a pivotal role in managing patient care, supervising nursing staff, and ensuring the highest standards of clinical practice are maintained. This position requires strong leadership skills, critical thinking, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in various healthcare settings, including acute care, long-term care, and specialized areas such as geriatrics and memory care. Responsibilities Oversee daily nursing operations and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards. Provide direct patient care, including assessments, medication administration, and treatment planning. Supervise and mentor nursing staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment. Coordinate patient care activities with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes. Manage patient admissions, discharges, and transfers while ensuring continuity of care. Implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and satisfaction. Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Conduct staff training sessions on best practices in patient care and emergency procedures. Experience Candidates should possess a diverse range of experiences that may include but are not limited to: Critical care experience in Level I or Level II trauma centers. Long-term care experience within assisted living or nursing home settings. Hospital experience across various departments such as emergency medicine, ICU, pediatrics, or medical-surgical units. Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems like Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks. Proficiency in patient assessment techniques, medication administration, IV infusion skills, phlebotomy, and catheter care. Knowledge of ICD coding (ICD-9 & ICD-10) for accurate medical documentation. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or specific conditions such as Alzheimer's disease or dementia. Background in hospice care or palliative services is advantageous. The Charge Nurse position is essential for maintaining high-quality patient care standards while leading a team of dedicated healthcare professionals.
