  • Full-time This is a part-time charge nurse position for the evening shift; exact hours are flexible.
Must hold a current, unencumbered license in this state as a Registered Nurse. LTC experience is preferred.
Job Knowledge:
Nursing policies and procedures; administration of medication, possible side effects, and treatments as prescribed. Comprehensive knowledge of nursing practices. Must be able to take call with fellow Department Head Nurses.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for overseeing nursing care of residents during his/her shift. 2. Recognize significant changes in conditions of residents during his/her shift or unit. 3. Supervise direct resident-care personnel on the shift or unit. 4. Prepare and administer or supervise preparation and administration of medications and prescribed treatment. 5. Supervise serving of prescribed diets and fluid intake. 6. Chart medications and treatments according to procedure. 7. Ensure rehabilitative nursing procedures are performed. 8. Direct and maintain charts on his/her shift. 9. Participate in staff meetings. 10. Consult with DON when necessary. 11. Assign personnel according to nursing policy. 12. Supervise CNAs in performing duties by checking their work closely to be sure assignments have been completed. 13. Be sensitive to resident families and respond in an appropriate professional manner. Resolve complaints or issues that arise during shift.
