Rockridge Retirement Community Job Description:
Nurse Director Position Summary The Nurse Director is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the overall operations of the Memory Supported Assisted Living Community in accordance with the Executive Office of Aging and Independence regulations (AGE). This role ensures that all services provided to residents meet Rockridge's standards and NEDA policies and procedures. The Nurse Director also assists with interviewing and prescreening prospective residents and staff in the Wellness Department. Qualifications Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with a valid Massachusetts license. Graduate of an accredited nursing program. Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience , preferably in Assisted living or long-term care rest home or Long-Term Care . Dementia Special Care Practitioner preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills in English. Ability to work independently and make sound decisions during emergencies. Physical ability to assist residents and perform nursing tasks (e.g., lifting up to 35 lbs., walking, bending, reaching, etc.). Must follow safety protocols for handling blood and body fluids. Exhibits compassion, empathy, integrity, and professional conduct. Key Responsibilities Clinical Oversight Supervise and evaluate direct resident care; take corrective action as needed. Monitor and assess residents with illness, falls, or changes in condition. Document comprehensive assessments and notify families and physicians of changes. Respond to and oversee responses to resident calls. Ensure medical documentation complies with AGE and internal policies. Staff Management Assign and explain care responsibilities to Resident Care Assistants (RCAs) and Certified Nurses Assistants (CNAs) Provide clinical instruction, coaching, and performance evaluations. Recommend disciplinary action when appropriate. Conduct interviews for RCA and CNA candidates with the Onboarding specialist. Monitor staffing levels and schedules in collaboration with the Scheduler. Resident Care & Communication Oversee RCA and CNA care delivery and resident responses.
