This role balances direct patient care with oversight of clinical workflows and staff support. The Nurse Manager serves as the primary clinical resource for clinical support staff to ensure efficient, high-quality, patient-centered care. Core Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care including triage, immunizations, medication administration, and patient education. Oversee daily clinical flow, staffing assignments for the North sites, and rooming processes to ensure efficiency. Support providers during clinic sessions and assist with urgent patient needs. Monitor and oversee management of clinical bucket workflows (labs, refill requests, patient messages). Ensure appropriate clinical triage and escalation based on established protocols. Serve as the first-line resource for MAs and RNs for clinical questions and workflow guidance. Assist with onboarding and training of new clinical staff. Provide real-time coaching and feedback to staff to improve performance and patient experience. Responsible for the nursing staff annual performance evaluations in collaboration with the Director of Nursing and Clinical Services as well as Lead RNs. Supports the efforts of the health center to meet federal, state, and insurance organizations clinical standards and support efforts to capture the needed data. Help coordinate coverage for call-outs and schedule adjustments. Promote team-based care and coordination across providers, behavioral health, and care management. In collaboration with Senior Management and the Director of Nursing and Clinical Services, problemsolves site issues where appropriate. Participate in lead nurse meetings and site meetings. Maintain clinical supply inventory and coordinate ordering. Minimum Skills, Experience and Educational Requirements Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. With BSN Has knowledge of nursing and medical principles including disease processes, certain examinations, observations, and laboratory studies; appropriately applies those principles to practice and procedure. Possesses and displays the ability to act independently within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act and consistently utilizes good judgment in patient care and the resolution of problems both clinical and non-clinical. Consistently utilizes good judgment in the resolution of problems, clinical and non-clinical. Maintains professional composure and confidence during stressful situations. Demonstrates self-direction and motivation in activities which enhance patient care. Anticipates new problems and is part of the problem-solving process Required Certifications and Licenses Massachusetts license to practice professional nursing Current CPR certification Previous experience in ambulatory care or public health preferred but not required. BSN for RN Critical Demands of the Job Manage multiple requests and prioritize appropriately. Must participate in interdisciplinary team-based care. Ability to function in a fast-paced setting with a variety of patients and staff. Attention to details and prompt follow-up. Includes walking and standing for long periods of time, sitting for short periods of time, hand dexterity, clear hearing and speaking ability. Must be able to lift a maximum of 1/3 of their body weight. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Working Conditions Works in well-lighted environment with comfortable surroundings. Stressful at times due to competing demands, including attention to multiple patients and staff. Required Availability May be required to work a rotating schedule as the department requires. This includes evenings, holidays and weekends.
