Job Description

Position Summary:
The primary purpose of this position is to provide coordination of and supervision of all residents as assigned. This involves documentation of the physical and psychosocial needs of residents in accordance with established medical practices, state policies, and facility expectations. This is an exempt, full time position that includes medical, vision, dental, and vacation benefits. Position is Monday thru Friday. On-call rotation - once every 4 weeks. Duties and Responsibilities Assist in directing the day-to-day functions of the nursing activities in accordance with the current rules, regulations and guidelines that govern Lourdes Participate in developing, maintaining and updating written policies and procedures that govern the day-to-day function of the nursing service department Visit residents on a daily basis in order to observe and evaluate each resident's physical and emotional status Respond to all accidents/incidents involving residents in accordance with established procedures. Participate in the orientation of new residents/family members to the facility. Request and arrange for diagnostic and therapeutic services, as ordered by the physician and in accordance with our established procedures. Monitor results of these services. Provide information to resident and family members of prevention techniques and other ways to maintain or improve the general health and psychosocial status of the resident. Develop preliminary and comprehensive resident care plans in coordination with the MDS nurse and Interdisciplinary Care Plan Team Evaluate each resident's condition and pertinent medical data to determine any need for special assessment activities or a need to amend the admission assessment. Assist in ensuring awareness and implementation of individual resident care plans. Attend various committee meetings of the facility (i.e. infection control, quality improvement, etc.) as required Support Lourdes mission and relate this to staff. Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing, registered in the State of Michigan; two (2) years of clinical nursing experience preferable. Must have supervisory experience. Ability to delegate responsibility, to use clinical judgment, and to establish priorities.. Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel
