Nurse Unit Manager RN Senior Living Center of Ypsilanti Ypsilanti, MI Job Details Full-time 5 hours ago Benefits Disability insurance Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off Employee assistance program Vision insurance Qualifications CPR Certification RN License Computer literacy BLS Certification CPR Full Job Description The RN Unit Manager is responsible for supervising nursing staff, coordinating clinical services, ensuring regulatory compliance, and promoting a positive and supportive care environment for residents and team members. Key Responsibilities Supervise and support nursing staff in daily operations, including staffing coordination, assignments, scheduling adjustments, coaching, and performance management. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including administration, therapy services, physicians, and nursing personnel to coordinate resident care. Monitor and maintain clinical care standards and nursing practices. Conduct routine rounds to assess resident conditions and ensure quality care delivery. Communicate effectively during shift changes and ensure continuity of care. Maintain clean, organized, and compliant nursing stations, medication carts, treatment areas, and resident care environments. Assist with quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives. Complete required documentation, assessments, reports, charting, and compliance records in accordance with state and federal regulations. Support admission, transfer, and discharge processes. Educate staff, residents, and family members regarding care procedures and policies. Provide direct nursing care as needed based on operational and resident needs. Ensure accurate and timely clinical documentation. Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Michigan. Graduate of an accredited nursing program. Current CPR certification required. Previous supervisory or leadership experience in a healthcare setting preferred. Skilled nursing, long-term care, or rehabilitation experience preferred. Knowledge of care planning and regulatory compliance standards preferred. Skills & Abilities Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities. Ability to delegate responsibilities and support team development. Understanding of infection prevention and safety procedures. Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn electronic health record systems. Physical Requirements Ability to walk, bend, lift, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive hand movements, with or without reasonable accommodation. Ability to remain seated or standing for extended periods as needed. Must adhere to workplace safety and infection control standards.
