Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Pre/Post RN Lead/Supervisor to oversee and coordinate nursing operations within our Edina Surgery Center. This pivotal role involves supervising nursing staff, ensuring compliance with clinical standards, and delivering exceptional patient care across pre-operative and post-operative settings. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive clinical expertise, and a passion for elevating patient outcomes. Responsibilities Supervise and mentor nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, and support personnel, ensuring adherence to clinical protocols and quality standards. Generate and maintain staffing schedule for the pre/post op team. Coordinate patient care activities in pre-operative and post-operative phases, including assessments, medication administration, and monitoring vital signs. Oversee medical documentation accuracy within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Conduct patient assessments, physical examinations, and evaluate physiological responses to treatment plans. Manage staffing schedules, resource allocation, and workflow to optimize patient care efficiency. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including surgeons, anesthesiologists, case managers, and ancillary staff to facilitate seamless patient transitions. Ensure compliance with infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and safety procedures such as sterile processing and catheter care. Participate in quality assurance initiatives like utilization review, DRG coding accuracy (Diagnosis-Related Group), and adherence to NCQA standards. Lead training sessions on new clinical procedures or EMR/EHR system updates to maintain staff competency. Skills Strong background in ASCs and Pre/Post; experience with acute care settings highly preferred. Proven leadership skills with supervising experience in nursing teams or healthcare units. Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, physiology principles, and diagnostic evaluation techniques. Competence in patient assessment skills including vital signs measurement, venipuncture, phlebotomy, IV insertion/infusion management, ventilator management, and tube feeding procedures. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations along with infection control practices; experience with sterile technique essential. Excellent communication skills for effective triage, patient education (including health coaching), discharge planning, and team collaboration. Experience working with diverse populations including individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia care needs; familiarity with behavioral health considerations beneficial.
