Job Description

Step into a career-defining leadership role as an Operating Room Nurse Manager at a Southern Minnesota hospital rooted in a small town, tight knit community where innovation meets heart and your impact is felt from day one. ✨

An Operating Room Nurse Manager will join a mission-driven, patient-first healthcare organization known for strong clinical outcomes, high patient experience scores, and a culture of safety that keeps hospital-acquired infection rates low while elevating care quality.

The Operating Room Nurse Manager will benefit from clinician-friendly workflows, optimized EHR tools, real-time quality dashboards, and a approach that values transparency, learning, and frontline-driven improvements in perioperative services.

Within the Operating Room, the Manager of Perioperative Services will guide a cohesive surgical services environment that spans pre-op, intra-op, and PACU, aligning closely with sterile processing to ensure readiness, safety, and efficiency that reflect AORN and ASPAN standards. This Manager of Perioperative Services will shape block scheduling, preference-card optimization, turnover times, surgeon engagement, and throughput initiatives that keep cases flowing while deepening teamwork across anesthesia, pharmacy, and case management—an ideal fit for a professional who loves the camaraderie of a small town, tight knit perioperative team and the clinical breadth of a modern surgery department.

Reporting to a forward-thinking Director of Perioperative Services and collaborating closely with the Chief Nursing Officer, the Operating Room Nurse Manager will lead a friendly group of nurses and a diverse healthcare professional team that includes surgical technologists, anesthesia partners, SPD leaders, and perioperative educators. The Operating Room Nurse Manager will oversee staffing and scheduling, hiring and retention, budget stewardship, inventory and implant management, quality and safety programs, surgeon relations, regulatory readiness, and continuous-improvement projects supported by clinical informatics, data analysts, and a dedicated OR business coordinator, so leadership can stay focused on outcomes, culture, and patient-centered excellence.

Southern Minnesota offers a lifestyle that suits a Surgery RN Manager seeking balance and adventure, with four-season recreation on lakes and river valleys, scenic biking and hiking trails, state parks, skiing and snowshoeing in winter, and farmers markets and outdoor concerts when the weather warms. A Surgery RN Manager will appreciate an affordable cost of living, short commutes, safe neighborhoods, and family-friendly festivals. For a Surgery RN Manager with academic or career growth goals, the region features respected public schools, nearby colleges and universities, abundant continuing education options, and strong broadband connectivity for modern life. A Surgery RN Manager will also find easy access to quality healthcare, senior services, fitness centers, and parks; a civically engaged community that values inclusion; convenient highway access; and a major international airport within a reasonable drive, delivering the perfect blend of small-town charm, regional opportunity, and big-sky nature.

This healthcare organization offers the Operating Room Nurse Manager competitive compensation with performance recognition, shift and on-call differentials, and a comprehensive benefits package that typically includes medical, dental, vision, retirement with employer contributions, paid time off, certification support, and relocation resources.
