Job Description
Nurse Manager / Infection Preventionist (RN) Job Summary We are seeking an exceptional Nurse Manager / Infection Preventionist (RN) to join our team at a long-term care facility committed to delivering high-quality care to our residents. In this leadership role, you will oversee daily nursing operations while leading and maintaining the facility's infection prevention and control program. The ideal candidate is a compassionate clinical leader with strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills who is passionate about resident-centered care and staff support. Responsibilities Nurse Manager Oversee the day-to-day operations of the nursing department, ensuring compliance with facility policies, state and federal regulations, and quality standards. Lead and support a team of RNs, LPNs, TMAs, and CNAs to provide exceptional resident care. Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining nursing policies and procedures. Collaborate with the Director of Nursing and interdisciplinary team to support clinical initiatives and operational goals. Provide guidance, coaching, and support to nursing staff while addressing concerns in a timely and professional manner. Participate in staff education, mentoring, competency validation, and quality improvement activities. Assist with survey readiness, audits, and regulatory compliance initiatives. Perform additional duties as assigned. Infection Preventionist (RN) Develop, implement, and maintain infection prevention and control policies and procedures in accordance with CDC, CMS, and state guidelines. Conduct infection surveillance, tracking, trending, and reporting activities. Monitor and investigate infection risks and outbreaks, implementing corrective actions as needed. Provide education and training to staff regarding infection prevention practices and other Nurse/CNA staff education. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to reduce healthcare-associated infections and promote resident safety. Maintain required documentation and participate in QAPI and survey preparedness activities. Qualifications & Experience Current RN license in the state of Minnesota. Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing setting (excluding training programs). Previous leadership or management experience preferred. Strong knowledge of infection prevention standards and regulatory requirements. Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills. Licenses & Certifications Active RN license in Minnesota required. Infection Preventionist certification preferred or willingness tobtain.
