Full Job Description Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for overseeing the daily clinical activities of the therapeutic apheresis department.
Essential Functions:
Manages, trains, mentors and develops assigned staff, Ensures adherence to SOPs, regulations, guidelines, practices and policies. Maintains quality patient care, process improvement plans and excellent customer service. Assists to achieve the financial objective of the department through annual budget and cost analysis preparation. Works in conjunction with medical staff to review all patient treatments and recommended treatment plans. Communicates with referring physicians and hospitals and acts as a professional resource. Assist the medical staff with operations planning and problem resolution to achieve program goals. Performs cell collection procedures as needed and assist in managing of studies. Develops and implements a continuous a quality improvement program and risk management activities. Develop and implement a staff training plan to ensure staff comprehension of all apheresis procedures, possible procedure related complications, new directives and regulatory guidelines. Assists marketing in establishing procedural rates for new and existing customers and defining project margins. Exemplifies CBC's Customer Service Mission and Core Values.
Other Functions:
Participates in meetings and committees as needed. Makes recommendations for improvements of business unit's processes and practices. Works on special projects as assigned. Any related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience Education:
Bachelor's Degree in
Nursing Experience:
Five years of experience in nursing with at least three years in a critical care capacity, experience must include supervisory/managerial experience. Any combination of education, training and experience that has suppled the necessary knowledge, skills and experience to perform the essential functions of the job.
Licenses / Certifications
Current RN licenses in Missouri and Kansas or ability to obtain license in a state in which not currently licensed within one year of hire.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge:
Knowledge of a variety of software applications (Microsoft Office Suite).

Ability to interpret and analyze medical information accurately. Ability to teach and mentor. Ability to maintain accurate paper and electronic records. Ability to travel and to work evenings/weekends as necessary. Strong management, leadership and supervisory skills. Strong attention to detail in all work processes. Demonstrated ability to build partnerships locally and nationally. Ability to work indepenently with minimal supervision. Ability to effectively solicity, cultivate, and build relationships with constituents and organizations. High level of interpersonal skills t handle a variety of complex issues and situations. Position requires demonstrated pose, tact and diplomacy in dealling with a variety of staff upt to and including executive leadership. Strong ability to communicate clearly and with authority, both in writing and verbally, to others in one-on-one or small group settings. Ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization and customers in a helpful, courteous and friendly manner wihle demonstrating sensitivity to and respect for diverse populations. Ability to work in a strong team environment. Ability to plan and organize job taks or resources in an efficient manner. Ability to be responsive and available to management in order to address issues and concerns as they arise. Ability to work in a fast-paced environament with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple cometing tasks and demands. Ability to identify complex problems in a timely manner, decipher information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
