It offers 24-hour emergency services and has partnered with St. Louis Children's Hospital to provide world-class pediatric emergency care. Progress West Hospital also provides surgical services, endoscopy services, a cardiac catheterization lab, medical/surgical inpatient services, diagnostic imaging, lab services, and the Advanced Wound Center, a specialty wound treatment facility with state-of-the-art equipment. Progress West Hospital recently completed an expansion of its Childbirth Center to include enhanced services for at-risk mothers and babies, with a newborn ICU that provides care for babies born as early as 32 weeks. Progress West Hospital is a Certified Level II Stroke Center. The hospital's medical office building houses offices for specialists in primary care, cardiology, obstetrics, pediatrics, and orthopedics. The Surgical Services department includes 3 ORs. We provide a full range of surgery programs - inpatient or outpatient, general or specialty - in an environment that promotes healing. Surgical services include by not limited to: General surgery, ENT, Orthopedics, Urology, Colorectal, Gynecology, Gastrointestinal (GI), Plastic surgery. This department, along with all departments within the hospital, supports the guiding principles of the hospital in providing care that is customized and reflects the patient's needs, values, and choices. Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose Responsible for the operational and clinical management of a designated patient care unit(s) on a 24 hour basis. Oversees a span of control and financial responsibility of > 72 FTE's supervised + > $2.5 million in total expenses OR > 40 FTE's supervised + > $5 million in total expenses. Responsibilities Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership. Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals. Directs the delivery of safe and appropriate patient care governed by evidence based clinical and management practice. Ensures team compliance with departmental policies, regulatory requirements and professional standards; keeps policies and procedures up-to-date and participates in revisions as needed. Promotes, and is accountable for customer satisfaction, process indicators, quality improvement plans and outcomes in work unit. Researches, evaluates, selects and implements systems which improve efficiency of work unit operations. Supports and assists the growth of existing or new business/programs. Minimum Requirements Education Nursing Diploma/Associate's Nursing Experience 2-5 years Supervisor Experience 72 FTE's supervised + > $2.5 million in total expenses OR > 40 FTE's supervised + > $5 million in total expenses.
