- 8am to 5pm We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to serve as Unit Manager within our healthcare facility.
The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive nursing background, demonstrating expertise in patient care, team leadership, and clinical operations. As the Unit Manager, you will oversee daily nursing activities, ensure compliance with healthcare standards, and foster a collaborative environment that promotes high-quality patient outcomes. Your leadership will be instrumental in maintaining operational excellence and supporting staff development across various care settings. Responsibilities Lead and supervise nursing staff, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations to ensure optimal team functioning. Oversee patient assessments, ensuring accurate documentation of vital signs, medical history, and physiological data using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner or PCC. Coordinate interdisciplinary care plans, including medication administration, IV infusion management, catheterization procedures, and wound care, with an emphasis on infection control and aseptic techniques. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of patient medical records and documentation. Manage staffing schedules to meet patient care demands while adhering to regulatory standards such as NCQA and DME guidelines. Facilitate discharge planning, family communication, and collaboration with case management teams to optimize patient transitions across care levels. Monitor clinical operations related to acute care, geriatrics, behavioral health, dementia care, or specialized units like ICU or pediatric settings as required. Promote a culture of safety by implementing infection control protocols, emergency response procedures including airway management and ventilator support, and ensuring basic life support (BLS) certification among staff. Experience Proven experience in nursing management within hospital or long-term care environments with a focus on patient-centered care. Demonstrated proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for documentation and clinical workflows. Extensive background in critical care settings including ICU or Level I/II Trauma Centers; experience with Level II trauma center standards is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding for procedures like spinal taps or cardiac catheterization. Prior supervisory experience supervising nursing teams in acute or chronic care environments such as assisted living or memory care units. Familiarity with specialized treatments including dialysis management, tube feeding protocols, NG/PEG tube care, and ventilator support. Ability to work effectively with diverse populations including individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations.
