OVERVIEW
Position Summary The Nurse Manager is responsible for assisting in the oversight of the daily operations and administration of PRTF nursing services with Yellowstone Boys & Girls Ranch. This role involves assisting nursing staff in management, coordinating patient care, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and standards. The Nurse Manager works collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide evidence-based comprehensive integrated mental health care to youth.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Assists in planning and directing work, ensuring that work schedules are adhered to and assigning specific duties to subordinate staff. Assists in interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and training employees. Conducts staff evaluations, job performance management (including coaching/counseling), and corrective action. Management Responsible for ensuring appropriate staff training and education programs are provided. Schedule and conduct regular staff meetings. Demonstrates effective management of a team toward achievement of goals, including appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. In the absence of the Director of Nursing, provide leadership and supervision to nursing and administrative staff members assigned to the clinic. Clinic Operations Assure high-quality patient care is provided to youth of Yellowstone Boys & Girls Ranch. Assure nursing policies and procedures are aligned with established best practices in behavioral health care. Utilize processes to continually improve clinic operations, achieve desired clinical outcomes. Compliance Assure compliance with all state, federal, and licensing regulations as they apply to nursing services. REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
Age:
21 years or older.
Background Check:
Must pass criminal and child abuse background checks as required by the State of Montana. Minimum 3 years of nursing experience in a hospital, clinic, or community healthcare setting. At least 1 year of experience in mental health. Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN). Willingness and ability to obtain certification in First Aid/CPR and Violence Intervention Prevention. Values Faith

The person in this position will constantly communicate with clients, their treatment team, and others. Must be able to communicate accurate information and accurately understand information communicated by those individuals. Proficiency Medication administration: Proficient in administering psychotropic and routine medications; understanding of side effects and interactions.
Medical documentation:
Accurate and timely charting in electronic medical records (EMR). Skills Demonstrate the ability to think of their team over self and define success collectively rather than individually. Demonstrate being self-motivated, self-disciplined, and diligent with forward thinking. License Current licensure as RN in the state of Montana or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).
  • Current licensure as RN in another state will be considered with the requirement of obtaining Montana or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) license within 90 days of hire.
